Centa Transmissions is an independent mechanical power transmission company specialising in the supply of engineered drive solutions for a wide range of industrial, precision automation and processing drive applications. Three Gear Systems Individually or in combination, our standard range of gearboxes and gearmotors is based on three quite distinct gear operating principles, Cycloidal, Planetary (Epicyclic) and Spiral Bevel. Each gear type has its own unique characteristics and may be used individually or in combination depending on the application. Each gear system is available in a standard industrial form or as a precision servo drive: The Cycloidal System is co-axial and offers high reduction ratios in a single stage. It is suitable for heavy duty applications since it has a very high shock load capability of up to 500%. Zero backlash units are available for precision drives. The Planetary System is also co-axial and is particularly suitable for high torque, low speed applications. It is extremely price competitive against other gear systems and offers high efficiency with minimum dimensions. For similar output torques the planetary gear system is the most compact gearbox on the market. Low backlash units are also available. The Spiral Bevel System is a right angle drive offering low ratios, high efficiencies and high input speeds. The gearbox can be used independently or in conjunction with either the cycloidal or planetary gearboxes to give a high ratio right angle drive. Low backlash units are again available. Customised Design Standard units can be modified or re-engineered to meet specific customer application demands. In exceptional cases, a completely new special gearbox design may be offered. Application Engineering All application requirements are carefully evaluated, taking into account such things as torque, inertia, speed, ratio, operational duty times, shock and peak loading conditions, dimensional limitations, any backlash constraints together with the required shaft and mounting configurations etc, in order to determine the most suitable drive solution consistent with meeting customer's specification at an economic cost. |
